Well folks, this is a twist for me.  I've been honored to have the opportunity to cover one of the most successful artists the world has ever seen, and for the first time in writing career I'm intimidated.  In today's world there is a lot of strife and turmoil, but a brilliant light of hope glitters from Mrs. Carter, the one and only Beyoncé. To all the single ladies, I'd put a ring on it, or you can find everything you own in a box on the left.

Beyonce's latest release, 4, tests true to her pop/r&b sound and her live show is said to be spectacular.  Her vocal range is startling, and this show is a must-see.  I've claimed that Louisville has really been on the map for a while, but this really solidifies our place in the global pop music spotlight.  Since the days when Destiny's Child first #1 hit came out with "Jumpin Jumpin", there have been many times when I've been caught singing some Queen Bey. Needless to say, I'm a Beyonce fan. She's the epitome of class, has the smoothest voice (with a subtle hint of grit when needed) on the planet, her charitable work is immeasurable, and she is truly music royalty.

Speaking of charitable endeavors, per the Yum! Center, "As part of a partnership with Goodwill Industries International, Beyoncé is inviting fans who are attending her 'Mrs. Carter World Tour' show at the KFC Yum! Center to donate clothes to Goodwill for a chance to win upgraded seats at the concert. There are two ways to participate in Goodwill’s #BeyGOOD initiative: Ticketholders are asked to bring donations to a Goodwill donation center and then bring their donation receipts to the concerts or bring clothes to the concert and look for the Goodwill donation bins to deposit their items. The first 100 ticketholders with their donor receipts or donations, who arrive between 7PM and 8PM, receive stickers qualifying for a chance to be upgraded to the BeyStage or BeyHive VIP areas. Two winners will be chosen to receive upgraded seats!!"

Beyonce fever has certainly hit Louisville,  so get your tickets while you still can! Special Thanks to the KFC Yum! Center as this will be my first time in you fine facility. Don't forget to check Louisville.com's twitter feed, as I'll be live-tweeting the show if possible
