From Louisville charity events to the pageant circuit, Amelia Gandara – Miss Jefferson County’s sense of style is one to keep on your radar. You can catch her around town at various charity events or at the University of Louisville, where she is studying Chemical Engineering. While Gandara’s pageant fashion may have much more bling atop lush fabrics, her dresses at charity events are fun and casual fem.

Her personal fashion is influenced by her personality, which is vibrant to say the least, and by her Hispanic descent. Gandara told me that she tends to throw in a little Latin flare when she can; by wearing a little red dress which also helps to brighten up her mood. She also likes to wear white and shares with me the “more women win in white” pageant myth. While this writer isn’t sure if this myth is true or not, but must agree that white is always a personal favorite.

She likes to shop at boutiques because “the fashions can be a little more detailed and you aren’t as likely to run into someone else at the event with the same outfit” she explained. Gandara likes to shop at Westport Village because the shopping area has the largest group of boutiques in one place, noting that sometimes she likes to go and walk around to each one.

You can cheer on this fashion forward Louisvillian as she will be competing for the Miss Kentucky 2011 Crown representing Jefferson County. The Miss Kentucky Scholarship Pageant will take place in Lexington, KY at the Singletary Center for the Arts on July 14 at 7:00 p.m. and the 15th at 7:00 p.m. for preliminaries and the final competition will take place on July 16th at 7:00 p.m. For those interested in cheering on Gandara, you can purchase tickets on the Miss Kentucky Pageant website for $100.00.

Spoiler alert: Gandara will represent Louisville with the platform for Transferable Skills to encourage arts and opportunities for children. As a ballerina Gandara will express her posh style by wearing a “Black Swan” inspired costume during her talent portion of the pageant. Natalie Portman fans take notice; this costume is amazing. We wish you good luck Amelia!

    About Bella Portaro

Happiness Cultivator. Blogger. Writer. Social Media and PR Maven. Dreamer. Louisville Lover. Blogger at Bella of Louisville; a lifestyle blog. A lifestyle is- by definition to me - the way in which one chooses to live their life. As I’ve entered into this chapter / book of my life with a strong understanding of who I am, lifestyle has become about the art of living well. This idea goes beyond creating a beautiful home and investing in my wardrobe. Living well means being kind, being good company, contributing to your community, and becoming a person of substance and grace. If designing a life full of substance and grace isn’t aspirational, I don’t know what else is. I love writing about events and things to do in Louisville. I hope you enjoy my posts and connect with me on social media!
