A whole lot of musical magic has been in town within the last week.  From Beyoncé to Justin Timberlake, there was no shortage of auditory action in our fine city.  Nestled in between those pop mega-stars, however, were gem performances by Over the Rhine and Matt the Electrician.

Now when I say that the latter are on entire different levels than the former, I certainly mean that lovingly.  Matt's performance was grand, considering it was only him and a guitar.  Matt the Electrition creates wonderful music, greatly commands the stage as a solo act, and is a phenomenal storyteller.

Over the Rhine are equally as talented, and have superb on-stage chemistry.  While they played with a full band, it was personally inspiring to see a husband and wife duo with such candid appreciation for each other.  Their sublime sound really captivated the crowd, they're definitely great performers and masters of the romantic ballad.

If you have any liking for folksy goodness add both to your list.
