    Louisville Uncorked Returns in February
    Print this page

It’s been two or three years, but who’s counting? One of Louisville’s most entertaining charity events is back.

Louisville Uncorked is a huge wine tasting event; each Uncorked focuses on one type of wine or perhaps a loosely defined region. If you have ever felt tipsy after a regular wine tasting, and you haven’t been to Uncorked, you have a whole new experience coming.

This year, Uncorked will be a tasting of “South American Red Wines.” Any type of red wine from any South American country qualifies, excluding dessert wines.

Each Uncorked team, which can be one, two or three people, brings three bottles of the same wine. Two will be covered and opened for the group tasting. The third bottle will become part of the prize for the three teams who brought the three most popular wines, based on the group’s ratings. If your team brought the least favorite wine, well, you’ll be taking that third bottle home.

Get it? It seems a little complicated the first time, but it works.

In order to participate, you MUST pre-register your team (remember, that is one, two or three people) and you MUST bring three bottles of the same wine.

The February event’s charitable partner is Family & Children’s Place, which provides treatment and counseling that stop and prevent child abuse and neglect, and serves Louisville and Southern Indiana.

The wine tasting will be held at The Mellwood Arts Center, Thursday, February 26, at 7:30 p.m. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served. You are encouraged to “dress to impress,” and the suggested donation for Family & Children’s Place is $20 per person, payable at the door.

Don’t forget to RSVP, and don’t forget the wine!
