In the continuing celebration surrounding the Louisville Free Public Library’s Teen Summer Reading Program, the library staff is organizing an Annual “After-Hours” Party on Friday, July 11 from 6-9 p.m. The event is entirely free and geared toward ages 12-19. This year, the after-hours party will feature a new twist to the teen summer reading program, the “Teen Choice Book Awards.”
This exclusive after hours party will also feature presentations and workshops from University of Louisville’s Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium’s mobile shows and a challenge from the University of Louisville School of Engineering, among other activities. All summer long, teens have been voting on their favorite books at all of the LFPL branch locations through the teen blog on the LFPL website. At the after-hours party, the winners of the “Teen Choice Book Awards” will be announced, covering a plethora of different genres and categories.
See the library’s website for more information about the party. Teens will enjoy having the library all to themselves after it’s closed--what a great way to celebrate with some friends for a few hours!
