The Louisville Cardinals football team managed to come from behind to claim a Saturday victory against conference competitors, Houston. This came after an explosive quarter for the Texas school in the second quarter, where they managed to put up thirteen points.

The Cards meanwhile had ten points on the board themselves, but going into half time they found themselves in a rare situation for this season; that is to say down.

Led by running back, Dominique Brown though the Cards came out for the second half with a hard charge, shutting down Houston for the rest of the game defensively while taking the lead and eventual win 13-20, this victory has led the Cards to a number two ranking in the AAC, behind Central Florida; who previously gave the Cards their only loss this season.

Currently, Louisville is looking toward their next opponent though, old time rival Memphis, who they will square off against on Saturday at Noon at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.

Currently the Cards record stands at 9-1, and they are essentially guaranteed to go bowling in the post season, however Louisville will be trying to reach that best bowl they can in their upcoming regular season matchups.

Meanwhile on Saturday, Kentucky was in Nashville to take on long time rival, Vanderbilt, in a storied SEC battle.
The two teams looked relatively well matched upon kick-off, with Vandy taking a slight lead in the first, leading to a score of 6-9. A score that would not change in the second and third quarters as both teams looked towards their defenses.
In the fourth the Commodores managed to wrap it up claiming the official victory grabbing an additional thirteen points and the game- with a final score of 6-22.

Currently the Cats are 2-8 and 0 for- in conference games, They’ll stay on the road on Saturday when they square off against Georgia which is set for a kick-off time of 7. The Cats are currently ranked last in the SEC-East holding the same record as Arkansas in the SEC-West.

    About Dave Rose

Recently, I completed a Masters degree in Education and have been writing for for over a year now, prior to that I published a humor book for young adults titled Wearing Socks with Sandals, a book about getting through high school, college, and all of the requisite problems that present themselves during that time. Currently, I spend much of my time in classroom settings as well as writing in various areas. Of course, I’m a big sports fan and love music and film, and love finding new stuff around Louisville.
