    Live Music Lou's Can't Miss: March 8-14
    Print this page

Shake off the snow and the mid-March blues by joining us for this week's best shows. We're highlighting lots of locals this week, as well as some big name national acts (see Saturday!!!). For location, time and cost, click on the link for each event. Check back at livemusiclou.com after the events for our full reviews.

    Sunday (3/8) -

    Turquoise Jeep
The beats of Turquoise Jeep may have been involved in some less than successful finals week studying. Their cult following will be out on this Sunday night and if you desire a little guilty pleasure listening, this is your gig.

    Horse Feathers with David Ramirez
Portland, Oregon Horse Feathers seem like some down to earth people as they recently have begun a Facebook campaign to find willing fans to house them throughout their tour. This should be a chill one to start the week.

    Monday (3/9) -

The Gaslight Anthem with Northcote & The Scandals
Headliners will be the perfect venue for punk band The Gaslight Anthem. Their most recent album Get Hurt gets a little heavier than the preceding ones but still features their signature smoky melodies and choruses.

    Tuesday (3/10) -

Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas with Shilpa Ray
Hailing from Detroit, Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas encapsulate the city's authentic, diverse music scene. The combination of Hernandez' sultry voice with the instrumental Deltas leads to a dark, soulful sound.

    Wednesday (3/11) -

Communion Louisville: Filligar, Bobby Long and The Tunesmiths
Communion returns to Zanzabar with indie-rock group Filligar, acoustic artist Bobby Long, and the always energetic (and Louisville locals) Tunesmiths. This rendition of Communion will be a diverse set that is sure to entertain.

    Friday (3/13) -

Hiss Golden Messenger with William Tyler
William Tyler will kick off the night with a one-man instrumental set. Following him, with their North Carolinian folk sound, Hiss Golden Messenger will have you whistling along to every song.

    Saturday (3/14) -

    Prince
Louisville is the first stop on his just announced pop-up tour with 3RDEYEGIRL. If you are a lucky one who gets through Monday morning, bravo. It's sure to be a flamboyantly fabulous show.

The Moonlight Peddlars with Thirty Spokes and Small Time Napoleon
This 1st Annual Instrument Drive sponsored by WFPK and Louisville Musician Service Coalition features three Louisville bands. The Moonlight Peddlars will release Armadillo, an album full of bluesy harmonies. Joining them is soulful band Thirty Spokes and the jazzy Small Time Napoleon.

Graffiti, Brother Wolves, and Six Bells
If you're looking for something a little harder, head to The New Vintage to rock with the Louisville boys of Graffiti, Brother Wolves, and Six Bells
