In a statement released today, Kentucky Shakespeare canceled the remaining performances of its production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, citing "personal issues concerning one of our actors."

Kentucky Shakespeare does not employ understudies.

Twelfth Night opened June 20th and was scheduled to run through July 14th at Central Park in Old Louisville. This season's run has been plagued by several rainy nights canceling a number of performances.

Patrons who purchased VIP packages through Living Social are asked to contact that company directly for refunds, while those who purchased VIP packages through KY Shakespeare may contact the Shakespeare office directly at (502) 574-9909.

The rest of the season, including performances of Taming of the Shrew by the high school Conservatory group will continue as scheduled.
