Domestic bliss and tranquility are broken up thanks to “The Man Who Came to Dinner,” which Clarksville Little Theatre will present beginning tomorrow night.
“The Man Who Came to Dinner” will take place on Sept. 11, 12 and 17-19 at 8 p.m. each night. A matinee is to go on on Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. All performances are to happen at Clarksville Little Theatre, located at 301 E. Montgomery Ave. in Clarksville, IN.
Tickets for each show are $17 for adults, $14 for seniors 60 and above, $14 for teens 13-18 and $8 for children aged 6-12. All tickets can be purchased at the door or by reserving at the Clarksville Little Theatre website.
In this classic comedy, Sheridan Whiteside is staying at the Stanleys home after breaking his hip following dinner there. While Sheridan recovers from his hip injury, the Stanleys find themselves dealing with one chaotic situation after another. This includes Sheridan’s insults, numerous international phone calls, which sends the Stanleys bill into the stratosphere, ex-convicts coming to the house for dinner and random packages being delivered to the house.
Can the Stanleys survive the madness? Is Sheridan ever going to leave? Will they ever find the peace and tranquility they once had in the house?
Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman created “The Man Who Came to Dinner,” which J.R. Stuart directed for Clarksville Little Theatre. The cast includes Michael Gaither as Sheridan Whiteside, Charlotte Dubois as Mrs. Ernest W. Stanley, Tom Pettey as Mr. Stanley, Spencer Korcz as Richard Stanley, Jane Burke as Harriet Stanley and Abby Braune as June Stanley.
Following “The Man Who Came to Dinner,” Clarksville Little Theatre will present “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.” The holiday favorite will go on in November. More information on the show can be found at the Clarksville Little Theatre website.
