Think St Patrick’s Day celebrations are only on March 17th?

Think again! Our local chapter of the Ancient Order of Hibernians is making sure this Irish holiday is not only celebrated during the day of March 17th, but the week leading up to it as well!

The party begins on Saturday, March 6th at the Pre-Parade Wearin’ o’ the Green Party.

Live music, hors d'oeuvres and a silent auction

are scheduled events as well as inducting the new Knights of St. Patrick.

The party begins at 7:30 and is held at Masterson’s Nicholas Room (1830 S 3rd Street).

    Tickets are $35 a piece, or $300 for a table of 10.

Then, on Thursday March 11th, the Pre-Parade Blessing of the Beer & Keg-tapping will be held at BBC Taproom on East Main at 5:30, and then continued at 6:15 at O’ Shea’s Irish Pub (956 Baxter Ave).

Kick off the parade weekend with traditional Irish singing and dancing, Irish toasts, food and drinks.

It all leads up to the big event… the St. Patrick’s Day Parade held this year on Saturday March 13th at 3:00 PM.

With over 100+ parade entrants and floats and a crowd of over 15,000 expected- 2010 hopes to be one of the biggest ever!

Check out this family-friendly parade route along Bardstown Road from Mid City Mall to Baxter Avenue.

Get rid of your winter blues and trade them in for St. Patrick's green at Hooley in the Highlands!
