Summer isn’t over yet.
This weekend, take advantage of one of the few remaining opportunities to catch some outdoor theatre in the Louisville area.
Iroquois Amphitheater presents Gilbert & Sullivan’s H.M.S. Pinafore, set to open this Friday, August 17th.
The production, directed by Le Petomane Theatre Ensemble co-founder Gregory Maupin, is a lively and comedic operetta, with an emphasis on comedy. It tells the tale of the captain of the H.M.S. Pinafore and one of his many daughters, who falls in love with a man below her station.
Through a series of bumbles, mishaps, and some well-placed song and dance, rights are wronged, righted again, and some semblance of normal is eventually restored.
Tickets for the production are $15/$10 for seniors and students, with a service fee charged for all internet and phone orders. Tickets may be purchased online or by calling 877-435-9849. They may also be purchased at the Iroquois Amphitheater box office Monday through Friday from 8:30-4:30.
While the Iroquois Amphitheater is an open-air theatre, the majority of the seats are fully covered.
The production runs through August 25. All performances of H.M.S. Pinafore begin at 8pm.
The Iroquois Amphitheater is located at 1080 Amphitheater Rd., near the intersection of New Cut Road and Kenwood Drive.
