Just think about dusk setting, wooded pathways dim and dark, and thousands upon thousands of pumpkins glowing at you from the depths of the night. That is what awaits you at the second year of the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at Iroquois Park this coming week. The event is put on by Louisville Metro Parks and was a huge hit last year at its inaugural run; I have no doubt it will be just as spectacular and more awe-inspiring and breathtaking. I was able to take part in the event last year with my family and review it for the site, and we were blown away.
The Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular is October 9-November 2 and sets stage from dusk to 11pm (Sunday through Thursday; midnight on Friday and Saturday) along a 1/4 mile pathway through Iroquois Park. At least 5000 pumpkins light the night and take you through an incredible art show along the trails. The event is organized and orchestrated through Passion For Pumpkins Inc., which is “a multimedia production company with 25 years’ experience in redefining fall by transforming any landscape into an illuminated organic gallery.”
