    Bit to Do

Today, my toddler and I are going to thoroughly enjoy this lovely break from the sweltering summer heat! We’re going to head to Iroquois Park to play for a while at the playground before heading back home for lunchtime.

Iroquois Park is a wonderful gem in Louisville. There are plenty of activities for families to do together at this park, including the playground area, the sprayground and splash park area for those hotter days, trails and walking paths through cool shaded grounds and more. For active families, there’s a Frisbee disc golf course, areas to bike or hike up to the scenic overlook, basketball and tennis courts, and horseshoe pits. The park is over 725 acres large and was acquired in 1888. It is going through some vast park improvements, which you can read about here. It is also home to the Iroquois Amphitheater, which boasts lots of programming, some of which is suitable for young ones (i.e., free summer movie nights; see more here).

Before or after your play time at the park, stop into locally owned Sister Beans Coffee House for a latte, baked treat, or ice cream (they serve a few flavors of Comfy Cow Ice Cream).
