A modern Disney musical in the form of High School Musical will take over Silver Creek High School's stage starting this weekend.

High School Musical will take place on Sept. 27, 28, Oct. 4, and 5 at 7:30 p.m. each night. Matinee shows will occur at 3 p.m. on Sept. 29 and Oct. 6. Also, a sing-along performance is to happen on Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. All performances are to go on at Silver Creek High School, located at 557 Renz Ave. in Sellersburg, IN.

Tickets for each show are $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens 55 and over, and $6 for kids 3 and up. VIP upgrades may be available for an extra charge. All tickets can be purchased at the door, filling out a ticket form, or by calling Silver Creek at 812-246-7440.

Disney's High School Musical features Braniacs, Jocks, Thespians, and Skater Dudes all in their respective cliques. Two people that break the cliques are Troy and Gabriella, who originally met on a ski trip. When Gabriella moves to the area and begins attending the same high school as Troy, the two form a relationship and even try out for the high school musical.

However, pressures from the cliques, their friends, and drama diva Sharpay may force the budding couple

Disney's High School Musical started out as a Disney Channel movie in the mid-2000s. The popularity of it led to two sequels, the launching of several actors' careers, and led to the musical theater version many high schools around the country have since performed.

More information on the show can be found at the Silver Creek High School theatre arts website.
