The madness spreads in Reefer Madness: the Musical, which will be presented at Wayward Actors Theatre Company beginning Friday.

Reefer Madness: the Musical will go on Oct. 5, 6, 8, 12, and 13 at 8 p.m. each night.  A matinee is to happen Oct. 14 at 2 p.m.  All performances will take place in Mex Theatre, located in the KY Center for the Arts at 501 West Main Street in downtown Louisville.

Tickets for most shows are $16 per person, and tickets for the Oct. 8 show are $11 per person.  All tickets can be purchased at the Kentucky Center box office, Kentucky Center website, or by calling the box office at 1-800-775-7777.  More information on the show can also be found at the Kentucky Center website.

Reefer Madness: The Musical brings a tongue-in-cheek, musical comedy inspired by the 1936 movie.  In this production, once clean-cut kids come under the effects of marijuana.  It leads them down a path that includes sex, violence, and evil jazz music.

The production features Taylor Buchanan as Mary Lane, Kathy Todd Chaney as Mae, Richard Goff, as Jimmy Harper, Craig Nolan Highley as Ralph Wiley, Karissa Kathryn as Miss Poppy, David Borgelt as Jesus Christ, Ted Lesley as The Lecturer, Jeff Mangum as Goat Man, Meredith McBride as Sally, and Daniel Smith as Jack Stone.  Highley also directed Reefer Madness.
