    Happy Birthday Whisky Chicks!

It’s hard to believe that the Kentucky Whisky Chicks are only one year old.  There have been so many fabulous Whisky Chicks events over the past year it feels as though they’ve been around forever.  From mixer events to education to fundraisers, the Kentucky Whisky Chicks have had an awesome year.  If you haven’t yet had a chance to check out a Whisky Chicks event, it’s time to mark your calendar.

Who are the Whiskey Chicks?  According to their website, “Enjoying Kentucky Bourbon Whisky is a unique privilege in life. So is being a woman. Blend the two and you have the Whisky Chicks, a group wherein every woman can experience and explore the delights and distinctions of Bourbon while making new connections and friendships in the process.”

The group does welcome men but the focus is always on the women.  It’s all about building friendships and learning about bourbon together, no matter where you are in the process.  This group has already done some wonderful things and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store.

The group first started nearly a year ago: “On a very cold January night in 2014, 30+ women ventured out for the first Whisky Chicks get together. At the time we did not know if anyone would show up, but we soon found out that the women of Louisville and beyond love their Bourbon and want to learn more about the Kentucky made spirit. Over the past year there have been exclusive one-of-kind events that celebrated Bourbon, many new friendships created and plenty of Bourbon consumed.”  There will be a first anniversary party at Down One Bourbon Bar on January 22 which is free and open to all potential Whisky Chicks, though you will need a ticket to get in.  Click here for more information and tickets.
