Foxhollow Farm will host their third annual Fall Festival to benefit Maryhurst this Saturday, October 9th, at their lush, bucolic retreat in Crestwood. Families will enjoy hayrides along the beautiful farm, a sampling of the farm's organic, sustainable food, an old-fashioned cake-walk, and live music. Your kiddos won't leave empty-handed: there's a pick-your-own-pumpkin patch, and plenty of hay-heavy activities (experience the hay-castle...). If you've never relished the splendor of this farm before, there is a feeling of peace there that is inexplicable. Use this opportunity to benefit neglected children and soak in all that is crisp and fall at this special place this weekend.
A short jaunt from the city up 71 north, Foxhollow Farm lies a few miles toward Brownsboro from the Crestwood exit. Nestled among rolling pastures, this grass-fed beef and vegetable farm owned by the Norton family for over 75 years, is committed to organic and biodynamic agriculture and sustainability.
From 2-6:00 p.m. this Saturday, the farm will host a benefit for Maryhurst, a center for abused and neglected children that currently cares for more than 600 each year. Maryhurst is the oldest child welfare agency in the state and offers residential treatment for girls, group homes for children, and a host of programs that benefit at-risk youth. They have recently partnered with Foxhollow Farm in a program to teach girls from the center about healthy foods and farming practices.
Last year's festival brought more than 1,000 guests to the farm, so this year, help to make these two amazing local organizations successful. The event is free, but parking costs $1.00 (but not having to cross the bridge to Indiana is simply priceless).
