Freakwater is an alternative country band from Louisville. Freakwater was founded by Catherine Irwin and Janet Beveridge Bean in 1989 and have made many albums together. They then split-up to seek out their own solo-careers. Janet’s album, “Dragging Wonder Lake,” was folk and raw; while Catherine’s album, “Cut Yourself a Switch,” had a more pop kind of feel. It has been four years since these two amazing musicians and singers have reunited. Their show is a must see and  make sure to listen for their classic tunes like “My Old Drunk Friend,” “Right Brothers,” and the obvious local favorite “Louisville Lip.” Freakwater is playing Saturday, July 13 at 6:15pm on the WFPK Port Stage.
