    Bit to Do

Fashion designer Lauren Lein to bring trunk show to Les Filles Louisville

Now that the madness of March has drawn to a close, and the men have brought home the first NCAA Division I championship in basketball since 1986 – with visions of a repeat in Dallas in 2014 – while the women will one day surpass UConn, it is now time to bring all of our focus back to “the fastest two minutes in sports” as the Kentucky Oaks and Derby 139 draw closer and closer. This also means more time to spend picking out the perfect ensemble for the races, and of course, more fashion events to aid in this quest.

One such event can also be considered a preview of things to come for the area on Fourth Street between Muhammad Ali Boulevard and Broadway soon to be known as the South Fourth District. Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Chicago-based fashion designer Lauren Lein of Lauren Lein, Ltd. will hold a trunk show at Les Filles Louisville on 558 S. Fourth St. Lein will debut her collaboration with the boutique – whose parent, Les Filles Boutique, once lived in Westport Village before its rebirth as Les Filles Petite in Middletown – featuring custom pieces including Derby shift dresses, cocktail dresses and gala gowns, couture pantsuits and feminine power suits, and more. The designer has offered her avant-garde pieces and ready-to-wear collections for sale through Nordstrom's, Macy's and numerous boutiques throughout the United States. NFocus Magazine social correspondent Tonya Abelin will host the trunk show, and Lein will be available to help design and create the ensemble of your dreams.

For more information on Lauren Lein, you can find her design house at www.laurenlein.com, as well as follow her on Facebook. For more information and updates on the collaborative trunk show, you may contact Les Filles Louisville at 502-292-9733, Les Filles Petite at 502-554-1228, via email at lesfilleslouisville@yahoo.com, or follow their Facebook and Facebook Event pages.
