It’s promising to be a VERY warm weekend, but the St Matthews Farmers Market will be rocking in spite of the temps Saturday from 8am-12pm.

Ever been to the St. Matthews Farmers Market? Every Saturday this year - May 15th through September 25th  - the Beargrass Christian Church parking lot (corner of Browns Lane and Shelbyville Road) gets turned from empty blacktop into a town fair, boasting fifty or more regional and local vendors each week.

A walk through the maze of pup tents and display tables can get you everything from pottery and candles to apple butter and goat cheese, with many of the products being homegrown and free-range. There is even live music while you shop. (This week features Jazz Cats).

According to the market’s official website, the organizers hope to stand by the following principles:
    • support small farmers who care for the land
    • require strict farmer/producer criteria
    • provide delicious market foods & shaded picnic tables

See a full list of regular vendors here.
