Kentucky, not just Louisville, cares about our local agricultural heritage. That’s why

    Seed Capital KY

    put together their

    Local Food Hero Awards

. 2013’s winners included Ramsi Kamar of

    Raising Hope Organic Farm

    and

    Ramsi’s Cafe On The World

, and to celebrate the three winners, Ramsi’s will host the Farm To Table dinner tomorrow night. It’s a limited event, and since it’s coming up fast you’d better

    grab tickets now

    .

Aside from Kamar’s win, the other two honorees are Mike Lewis of Gaining Ground Farm and Clay Turner of Turner Valley Farms. The four course meal will be comprised entirely of ingredients from the three winning farms, and proceeds will go to benefit the

    Lincoln Foundation

. The winners were voted on by the public, and the purpose of the competition is to recognize some of the farmers who make the greatest impact on local food culture around the state. Seed Capital KY partners with the Kentucky Department of Agriculture and the city of Louisville to organize the contest, and they see the contest as yet another way to bring together the urban and rural parts of the state, which often exist in a strong disconnect.

The menu for Monday night looks amazing, and the lucky fifty people who land tickets are in for a treat.
