The Keep Louisville Weird movement continues on Sunday, May 18 as the Water Tower Park, 3005 River Road hosts the 6th Annual Buy Local Fair. The fair opens at noon and continues through 6pm and it’s free. The Louisville Independent Business Alliance (LIBA) organizes the day.
It’s $5 to park your car or use free valet service if you’re riding a bicycle. Inside the event area you’ll find 170 booths of good and services with all kinds of artists, farmers, local businesses and community organizations showing you what they have to offer.
And that’s not all. There’s a Cooking Competition with RYE on Market’s Joe Benet, the reigning champion taking on Decca’s Annie Petry, the Rising Star Award winner. Think of it as Iron Chef Louisville. While you’re enjoying that, get a craft beer from the Kentucky Guild of Brewers in the beer tent. With Louisville’s growing reputation for craft beer you’re sure to find something you like.
Kids can visit the H2O Kids Zone, thanks to the Louisville Water Company while you spend some time with Zumba instructors or listen to bands like Bookshelf, Karston Nelson, Small Time Napoleon and Field of Kings. However, don’t bring your dogs. It’s against Water Tower Park rules.
