    Buffets have a bad rap. Food critics turn up their noses and mutter things like "over heated" and "utterly American" when referring to the glorious gluttony that is endless vats of super-seasoned and abundant food. Ramsi's Cafe on the World offers a Sunday brunch buffet that even the most snobbish could not criticize; an upscale, but affordable brunch option for the particularly hungry and overindulgent. 

    My best friend and I visited Ramsi's on a Sunday morning after a night of carousing (read: we fell asleep at ten o'clock after dinner and a cocktail. We are getting old) and the scent of breakfast overwhelmed us from the second we stumbled, bleary eyed, into the door. Waiting for our table was ten minutes of torture as we watched patrons ferrying huge plates of heaping deliciousness back and forth from the buffet table. We sat outside in the cold and resentfully stared at the people inside stuffing their faces with raisin studded oatmeal and cream puffs soft as clouds. Once we were finally seated, it was a race to the buffet table.

    Man oh man, what a buffet. There was Ramsi's cheese tortellini graciella, black bean cakes, spicy queso dip, scrambled eggs. There was ginger french toast and chocolate chip pancakes and smoked salmon with cream cheese. There was vegan sausage and queso, a mixed salad, pot stickers and veggie paella (Ramsi's has a reputation for catering to vegans and vegetarians, and the brunch is no exception). There was an omelet station, and multiple fruit trays. There was eggs benedict and best of all, there was an entire serving tray packed with limp and crunchy bacon and sausages. Choirs of angels rang through my calorie deprived brain as I loaded my plate with meat-y goodness.
