A double feature of comedies will take place starting tonight as the Alley Theater presents The Dumb Waiter and The Ruffian on the Stair.
The Ruffian on the Stair and The Dumb Waiter will take place June 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19, and 20 at 7:30 p.m. each night. All performances will take place at the Alley Theater, located at 633 West Main Street in downtown Louisville.
Tickets for each show are $20 for adults, $15 for senior citizens and military members, and $12 for students. All tickets can be purchased at the Alley Theater website.
The double-play night features the black comedy The Ruffian on the Stair, about an ex-prostitute, a petty thug, and a young gangster seeking revenge for the supposedly-inadvertent death of a relative.
The evening will also include The Dumb Waiter, a humorous play focusing on two hit men who hideout in a basement to await their next hit.
Joe Orton created The Ruffian on the Stair, which Martin French directed for Alley Theater. Harold Pinter created The Dumb Waiter.
Following the double-feature, Alley Theater will present Boeing, Boeing, which will begin in July. More information on the show can be found at the Alley Theater website.
