    Bit to Do

Summer ended yesterday at Garage Bar, but not without going out in mouthwatering style. At the corner of Clay and Market Streets, a delicious, savory buffet-style spread sat waiting to be eaten.

My favorite part was, well, all of it: the juicy hog, especially the pulled pork and cracklins; the collard greens, corn-on-the-cob, roasted thyme potatoes and corn biscuits; the Panzanella and green salads, each with fresh avocados and peaches respectively. It was all-you-can-eat, and there was plenty of food. I ate all I could and then some, washing each bite down with a gulp of refreshing Peach Sangria.

As the sun started to set over downtown Louisville, coals heated up and marshmallows began to roast. Graham crackers were smashed together as chocolate melted against those freshly roasted marshmallows. And with those s’mores, the last bites of summer were taken.

Once stomachs began to fill, everyone trickled away to play Cornhole, Ping-Pong or to simply sit around, chatting and sipping Sangria.

Stay-tuned for their next planned dinner, a Bourbon Aged Dinner on Thursday, September 17at 6:30 p.m. Again, spots are limited, so make sure to call and claim your seat!
