Halloween is here! Everyone needs some Halloween music for a spooktacular evening. Some of Louisville’s favorite DJs share their favorite haunted picks.
Kyle Meredith from 91.9 WFPK doesn’t have just on favorite. He enjoys "Killing Moon" by Echo & the Bunnymen, "Monsters Anonymous" by Kevin Hearn, "Fire at the Pageant" by Felice Brothers, "Fresh Blood" by Eels, and "The Raven" by the Alan Parsons Project.
Laura Shine from 91.9 WFPK embraces the eeriness of Halloween with “Red Right Hand” by Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds. This song is all too perfect for Halloween.
Matt Anthony from 91.9 WFPK gets spooky with "Spooky" by Dusty Springfield.
Kelly K from 99.7 WDJX kicks it old school with "A Nightmare on My Street" by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince.
Hippy Head from Crescent Hill Radio is going the werewolf route with “Werewolves of London” by Warren Zevon. He started liking this song after watching the movie American Werewolf in London when he was younger. Although this song never made it on the soundtrack he still relates it back to the movie.
Mudd from 93.1 The Fox is also going old school with “A Nightmare on My Street” by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince as well as "Thriller" by Michael Jackson. Now while these aren't officially Halloween songs anything by Kesha and Justin Bieber also scares him.
I’m not a DJ, but I’ll have to go with Mudd on this one and say “Thriller” is my favorite Halloween song. Maybe not the most creative choice, but this is a classic. You just can’t beat some good zombie dancing. What's your favorite Halloween song?
Enjoy these songs today and have a safe and Happy Halloween!
