I firmly believe in certain things in life. Like the power of positive associations. I’m talking about Girl Scout Cookies. Instant nostalgia and affectionate memories of your childhood. On-the-spot scrumptiousness. It is prime time season right now for all of your favorite cookie luxuries. Everyone has a most desired Girl Scout Cookie. Personally? I’m all about the Samoas. Chocolate, caramel, and coconut coalesce for herculean tastiness. Tagalongs with the flawless combination of chocolate embracing peanut butter with a mouth-watering cookie crunch come at quite a close second. Really, is there a Girl Scout Cookie that I would say no to? I am not sure one exists. Bring on the Thin Mints. (Yes, please.)

Some of us are all grown up now and aren’t little kids anxiously waiting to smuggle a Girl Scout Cookie, swinging along in our navy lunch boxes. Now, we are adults who need the excuse of wanting to help out adorable children in order to get our evocatively tantalizing cookie fix. Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana understands us. They know our thinly veiled yearnings. Thus, they have provided Louisville with the 8th Annual Desserts First, with the caption, “Girl Scout Cookies…All Grown Up.”
