    The Comfy Cow Ice Cream
    Print this page

Even as The Comfy Cow’s number one fan, this ice cream establishment of my dulcet dreams never fails to surprise me with wonder and originality. Yes, it’s wintertime now, but the truly magnificent quality of great ice cream can offer an inner glow even as it revels in its creamy frostiness.

I have grown up my entire life around baklava. It’s a beloved family pastry. And while I love most desserts, no matter how I have tried to fall in love with this family favorite, it’s just never quite been my jam.

When I heard Comfy Cow created a brand new Baklava Ice Cream just in time for the holiday season, I was needless to say equal parts intrigued and skeptical. All I could remember was despite my non-proclivity toward cheese, one of the best flavors to date I have tried at The Comfy Cow was a concoction of goat cheese and balsamic strawberry-based basil reduction. This Louisville original establishment excels most in Willy Wonka-inspired realms of imagination.

Never be afraid to push yourself outside of your comfort zone. I follow that rule in both food and life. And that is precisely why Comfy Cow is my #1. It is all about adventure; wrapped up in the joyful simplicity of an ice cream cone.

With Comfy Cow’s frozen take on the crunchy, doughy classic comes the essence of a made-from-scratch Cinnamon Walnut Baklava with notes of honey and fresh orange blossom. You can miraculously taste every trace, with the nutty crunch of embedded baklava bites hearkening back to the timeless pastry. I have officially met my baklava match.

Additional December flavors to excite Louisvillians:

    My personal seasonal favorites:

Banana Walnut Fudge: The Comfy Cow's signature Banana ice cream loaded with swirls of their scratch-made hot fudge and toasted walnuts. (Gluten-Free)

Ginger "2 Snaps”: Sweet and spicy Gingersnap ice cream with chunks of Comfy Cow’s extra spicy house-made gingersnap cookies. (Try the cookies in an ice cream sandwich for good measure!)

Flavors I most look forward to trying next:

Chocolate Raspberry Truffle: Comfy Cow’s signature decadent Chocolate ice cream loaded with creamy Chambord ganache and dark chocolate chips. (Gluten-Free)

Hazelnut Crunch, OMG!: Hazelnut ice cream with a crunchy hazelnut and chocolate swirl.

Egg Noggin’: A custardy concoction with just enough rum to satisfy any potential holiday cravings, ranging from nice to naughty.

Additional holiday delectable delights (it’s that time of year!):

Candy Cane Lane: A lovely holiday blend of white chocolate ice cream and crunchy bits of crushed peppermint candies.

Peppermint Stick: Amazing Peppermint ice cream blended with slivers of red and green peppermint stick candy pieces.

Pistachio: Loaded with tons of toasted pistachios, this Pistachio based ice cream with its salty and nutty flavor makes it a true indulgence for real pistachio fans. (Gluten-Free)

Chatty Cathy: Freshly Roasted Coffee ice cream with a kick! Then added chunks of crushed chocolate-covered espresso beans and Barry Callebaut dark chocolate chips. (Gluten-Free)

    **

Comfy Cow remains in my opinion the most ideal spot for a date (simple, casual, and joyful) and for quality time with your family. What better way to bond you to the people you care about most than with ice cream that sets the tone for the season to be jolly?

P.S. Starting Saturday December 13th, Comfy Cow will be unveiling a 12 Days of Christmas Special! Each day a new deal will be offered on Louisville's favorite ice cream or one of its assorted treats. Comfy Cow Christmas is coming to town!
