This Friday, the 17th Annual Derby Eve Gala presents The Rose Ball at the historic Seelbach Hotel in downtown Louisville.

While other Derby-eve events are known for its throngs of star-studded celebrities (alas, Larry Birkhead and Kate Gosselin are busy attending the Barnstable-Brown party), this party will be sure to please its devoted crowd with fabulous gourmet food,  show-stopping entertainment and just plain fun.

The event features Burning Las Vegas, Nashville's most explosive dance band. Known for their high-energy performance, the band was so popular at last year's Gala that they are back this year by popular demand. Dance the night away to the band's hot horn section and blazing rhythms, while amazing vocalists keep the party hopping all night long.

What sets the Derby Eve Gala apart from other pre-Derby parties is its reputation for pure “kick up your heels” energy.

Attendees from past parties report that the Gala is unparalleled for sheer fun and entertainment. Not to mention, the food is supposed to be out of this world, with gourmet food prepared by the Seelbach's executive sous-chef, Matt Durham.

If you want to eat and party down, the Gala is your Derby Eve party. Don't worry about partying too hard as all proceeds from the Gala go to the American Lung Association. At print time, tickets are still available for the Gala for $300 for an individual. Or you can enjoy the fete from your own couch and join us at Louisville.com with live updates, photos and recaps.
