Last Friday, April 1, (which Mayor Fischer declared as "Disco Day") Kentucky's largest disco ball was suspended at Fourth Street Live! It's 11 feet in diameter and weighs 2,300 lbs. It's also totally gorgeous.
Sadly, it's not the world's largest disco ball, but that's the Guinness goal of the group of Louisvillians behind the glittery globe. You probably already know that Louisville produces most of the world's disco balls, but if you didn't before, you do now, and you've got a splashy Chicago-bean-style reminder in the heart of downtown.
