Lindsay was an especially bright light in local comedy scene for years.  Rising from The Louisville Comedy Underground shows at The Comedy Caravan, she came out of a scene that launched some of Louisville’s favorite comedians, including Raanan Hershberg, Patrick Passafiume, and Sean Smith.  She performed at the very first Young, Dumb, and Full of Comedy Show (it hadn’t even been christened by its Young, Dumb name at the time).  She played Mary Magdeline in the very first Roast of Jesus (which was the first show in the beloved Celebrity Roast series).

She has a charming, self-deprecating delivery for deadpan material that often walks the off-beat line between cynical and sarcasm.  This has an irresistible blend for her that allowed her to find a special niche in the frenzied New York comedy scene, where she regularly performs and is already beginning to garner a certain amount of attention, in a world where attention isn’t given, it’s earned.

Finally, after a long absence from the Louisville stage, Lindsay Boling will be in town this weekend making up for lost time.  She will be live and on-stage for two different shows proving why exactly it is she had to leave town to grow and flourish as both a writer and a performer – returning home a much better comedian.  Her dry, sardonic wit – and clever writing has done nothing but become better by immersing herself in the hard boiled comedy scene of New York City.

Lindsay Boling will be performing Saturday August 29th at The Bard’s Town for her “Lindsay Boling & Friendzzz” show, featuring Peggy O’Leary a fellow New York comedian.  The show will begin at 8 PM and tickets are available for $10.  Patrick Passafiume, Craig Williams, Sean Smith, and Brad Lanning will also be on the bill.

Lindsay will also be performing with Sarah Hyland on Sunday August 30th at The Laughing Derby.  The show will begin at 7:30 PM and tickets are available for $12.

    About Brent Owen

Born and raised in Louisville, I have lived here most of my life (except during a short furlough, when I, lovelorn and naive, followed a girl to Baton Rouge). My roots are here, my family, my friends, and my life are all here. I work primarily as a free-lance writer for a few local and regional publications. I have also written two books (one a memoir, the other a novel) that barring some divine intervention, will probably never see the light of day. I find myself deeply ingrained in the local bar scene, or perhaps better said, I often indulge in the local drinking culture. I love music, movies, comedy, and really just about any other live performance art.
