Earlier this week, Daniel Martin Moore, a local singer-songwriter, (originally from Elizabethtown) premiered a single from his next album "Golden Age" on NBC's The Blacklist.

The new track "Proud As We Are" brings you to a stand still. It is a low tempo song, but even more, it feels like it's moving slowly. The four minute track feels like it could go on and on if it wanted to. Beginning with a distant but strong piano, Moore begins to sing but almost talk/whisper. Moore has a meek sense to him but it's too hard not to listen.

When drums, bass, and strings (all of which are played by terrific local musicians including Scott Moore formerly of The 23 String Band), the sound is bigger but channeled and focused at the same mesmerizing sound Moore's voice leads with.

"Proud As We Are" plays right into Moore's wheelhouse. He produced it himself along with frequent collaborator Jim James (of My Morning Jacket). It's a song the listener can close his or her eyes and feel and hear everything every little things. He continues to deliver tracks that really mean something audibly that once you start listening you are drawn in to hear him. The musicianship is excellent.
