Forecastle is over, so you can rest up right? Well, you can if you want, but I have a better idea.

Lexington is getting into the music festival game this weekend with a one day music festival called Moontower Music Festival. It takes place this Saturday, July 26 at Equus Run Vineyards just outside the city in Midway.

The lineup is a great mix of genres including country and indie rock. A majority of the bands are from Kentucky. The full lineup is as follows: Moon Taxi, Sundy Best, Machines Are People Too, Brave Baby, Tyler Childers, A Lion Named Roar, and Buffalo Rodeo. DJ Gary Klass will be playing first and in between sets.

Sundy Best, Tyler Childers, A Lion Named Roar, Buffalo Rodeo, and DJ Gary Klass represent the Bluegrass State.

The gates open at 10 a.m. and music begins at 11:30 a.m. Music will wrap up at 10 p.m. A free Kegs & Eggs breakfast will be served to the first 200 people who enter the gates.

Lexington event company LexEffect who produced the festival believe that 2014 may prove to be a tester year for Moontower as they hope to become a three day festival in 2015.

General admission tickets for Moontower Music Festival cost $45. A parking pass costs an additional $10 but if you take their bus shuttle, it will only cost $5. Local food trucks will also be on hand. Guests must be 21+ to enter the festival.
