At Zazoo's
an up and coming new joint in St. Matthews, where you wouldn't expect Rock 'n' Roll to be alive is where strong females took the stage on Friday May 11, 2012. The Ladybirds introduced three outstanding bands with their Garage and Punk Rock style.
First up was She Might Bite from Louisville, an all girl band, with a distinct Rock 'n Roll sound adding some punk to it, played some of their soon to be released new album, you can hear them on shemightbite.com. The next band was Rambos
, from Chicago, Illinois they took the stage and their presence was a success, and played most of their new album 'Rock and Roll Monsters' their first single 'Terrorize' was an immediate hit with the crowd. After Rambos
, Vanna
Inget
a Sweedish
band with a strong female vocalist, Karolina
, had the audience suddenly banging their heads even if they didn't understand a word she was saying, the band songs were catchy and her performance was one of a kind.
Finally, even after listening to great bands, everyone was ready to see The Ladybirds come out and party, I for one had been looking forward to seeing them live for the first time; And as a new fan I was not disappointed in anyway, Sarah Teeple
with her vocals, presence and looks had the crowd dancing and singing along to their well known songs like 'Shimmy Shimmy Dang,' off their latest album and 'Whiskey & Wine' and of course 'Hum De Dum.' Their upcoming shows are posted on facebook.com/theladybirds
, if you're looking to dance around or just listen to good Rock and Roll they have the tunes you're looking for.
