    Bit to Do

Wouldn’t it be nice to undress your Valentine without sitting through a crowded dinner that doesn’t provide any real intimacy, let alone a hot meal after the kitchen gets backed-up because everyone in town wanted the day to be special... so they all did the same thing? Cirque Airotic, Louisville’s only aerial burlesque troop, will be showing a little skin without making you pay for it with your sanity.

I am, admittedly, a Valentine’s Day Grinch. Single, in a relationship - whatever the Facebook status, it’s a waste to me. The only kind of Valentine’s Day circus that is tolerable is the “Love is a Circus” show at Magnolia Bar on Thursday, February 10.

Cirque Airotic’s last show at the Monkey Wrench in February packed the place and had people lined up against the walls to fit in the room. Good thing the girls contort, peel and overall amaze on ropes and hoops suspended from the ceiling so the whole room can get a good view.

The Cirque Airotic troupe performs peeling, fan dances, chair dances, contortion, with hula hoops, on lyras, ropes, and silks. Thursday’s show is sure not to disappoint with music by WFPK’s Woodrow on the Radio and psychobilly band Vice Tricks. Come for the dancing, stay for the show, Cirque Airotic takes the stage at midnight.
