It is inspiring to see a no-kill shelter for obvious reasons. Mainly, most people dislike the thought of killing cute animals. However, beyond the inherent good associated with no-kill shelters, No Kill Louisville is offering some extraordinary help to pet owners. Through February, No Kill Louisville is running 28 Days of Spay, a free spaying and neutering program for qualifying Louisville residents. In order to qualify you must live in a district in which the councilperson has agreed to subsidize the cost of the procedure (Districts 6, 9, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 20, and 24). This offer is only for a limited time as only a certain amount of pet owners will receive this deal.
No Kill Louisville also offers a pet food bank, and will soon add Eva’s NKL Pet Food Bank Delivery Service. Eva was a cat that was given up due to economic hardship and she then died in a shelter. The delivery service has not been set up yet, but NKL provides relief for pet owners who do not want to abandon their pets, but have fallen on hard times. No-Kill Louisville’s website also offers a list of other pet food banks in Louisville.
