    Bit to Do

If Santa says you’ve been naughty, I guess the only thing left to do is prove him right.  In that spirit, the graphic novel-turned-film, ‘The Goon’, presents Music City Burlesque in ‘Merry Stripmas!’ Hot coco and an open fire may warm you, but renowned vixens can match that and sound like more fun.
Music City Burlesque is an eight-member group in Nashville that has performed the Bonnaroo Music Festival and the New York Burlesque Festival, among other places, but will be turning on a crowd only half a tank down I-65S. Merry Stripmas will be a night of burlesque bombshells, of course, but they are also offering raffles, a holiday photo booth, and Eric Powell, the creator of ‘The Goon’, will be in attendance signing books.
‘The Goon’ is a graphic novel about a hideous ox-of-a-man that fights zombies, ghosts, and aliens while somehow wooing buxom beauties.  It will be interesting to see how the collaboration has infused ‘The Goon’ into a Christmas burlesque show, but MCB doesn’t fall short on creativity. Louisvillians regularly travel to Nashville to see these girls’ latest spectaculars, and this weekend you can do so and help them support Toys for Tots and a local food bank (maybe an act of nice will counteract all the naughty?).
For more information and to buy tickets for the December 3 show, visit the Music City Burlesque site. Below is a trailer for The Goon.

The Weekend Tank Trip is a weekly travel article that only presents trips that take about one gas tank for a round-trip (gas milage varies).  My car gets about 350 miles to the tank so all trips will be to cities within 175 miles. Look for the next Weekend Tank Trip.
