NuLu Fest is this weekend but they won't be the only music source on Market Street this Saturday. Rye concludes its Back Porch Sessions summer series with a huge all day event with six bands on the bill.
Market Street will be closed all the way down to Baxter Avenue to facilitate the day’s activities.
Bands that will be on the Back Porch Session stage Saturday include Cincinnati's psych-twang juggernaut Wussy, the glimmering indie-rock of Brooklyn's Landlady (Adam Schatz of Man Man and Vampire Weekend fame), the Southern-Gothic swamp-song of Nashville's Adia Victoria as well as locals rapper JaLin Roze, garage-rockers Discount Guns and noise-pop singer of Cher Von.
WFPK After Dark host Sean Cannon will be serving as MC and DJ.
Back Porch Sessions kicks off at noon and lasts all the way until 10 p.m. The event, just like NuLu Fest, is free and all-ages. Food and alcohol will be available.
Rye is located at 900 E. Market St.
Presented by WFPK, RYE and Crash Avenue, the Back Porch Sessions is a FREE summer concert series intending to expose local artists and create a place for the community to gather around food and music.
