It’s a beautiful spring day and Rye looks toward their back porch as they announce the line-up for their annual music series:  Back Porch Sessions.

The monthly shows, which will take place on the patio at Rye (900 E. Market), will kick-off Thursday May 21st with Old Baby, Bitchin’ Baja, and Dream Eyed Color Wheel.

The concerts will take place once a month throughout the rest of the summer months.  The shows are presented by Bulleit Frontier Whiskey, WFPK, and Republic Bank; and supported by Someone Something, MPerfect, and Crash Avenue.  The shows are free to the public and open to all ages, and of course, rye will have the bar and kitchen open before and after all of the music.

The other shows planned for this season include:

Thursday June 18th – Twin Limb, Howell Dawdy, and Cher Von
Thursday July 16th – Young Widows
Thursday August 20th – The Hot Wires, Graffiti, and New Bravado

    About Brent Owen

Born and raised in Louisville, I have lived here most of my life (except during a short furlough, when I, lovelorn and naive, followed a girl to Baton Rouge). My roots are here, my family, my friends, and my life are all here. I work primarily as a free-lance writer for a few local and regional publications. I have also written two books (one a memoir, the other a novel) that barring some divine intervention, will probably never see the light of day. I find myself deeply ingrained in the local bar scene, or perhaps better said, I often indulge in the local drinking culture. I love music, movies, comedy, and really just about any other live performance art.
