The "Art Under Construction" Gala promises to be an awesome artsy affair according to Caroline Knop from Simply PR! This premier fundraiser celebrates Louisville Visual Art programs and also showcases the LVA Open Studio Weekend. Attendees can also see the Louisville Visual Art's new space, located in the Portland neighborhood.
Join Louisville Visual Art staff, board and committee members, as well as LVA artists in the community, at "Art Under Construction." It will be held this Thursday, October 29 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. It is the major annual fundraiser for the Children's Fine Art Classes for elementary students and Academy Classes for middle and high school students. These classes are made available to certain students who apply and are recommended, then granted scholarship throughout Jefferson County and Southern Indiana. Guests will be treated to signature cocktails and a full bar. Dinner will be provided by MozzaPi and local entertainment includes Flamenco dancing. Dress attire is "construction casual," as the event is being held in the new space in Portland that is under construction.
Tickets are $100 per person and $50 for open studio artists. Artists' and students' art pieces and work will be available to purchase that evening. All ticket purchases and money raised goes directly toward benefiting the students in Louisville Visual Art's programs, so buy your ticket and help keep art alive for Kentuckiana kids and students.
Louisville Visual Art welcomes event goers to their new home and is grateful for folks who support art in public schools. The LVA exists to "improve lives through visual arts education, community outreach, and artist support."
You can find more about ticket information and event details on the Facebook event page or purchase tickets online here.
The event is located at 1538 Lytle Street in Portland.
