This Saturday, August 28, The Home of the Innocents will host a fundraiser in the Backyard at Home of the Innocents’ Joan E. Thomas, M.D. Children’s Village, 1100 East Market St.
Attire for the BBQ is “down home and comfortable,” but don’t let the dress code fool you: The $50 ticket ($30 for seniors, students, military, police, firefighters and EMS workers; free for kids 12 and younger) includes unlimited helpings of fresh cuisine from star chefs Laurent Geroli (The English Grill at the Brown Hotel), Anthony Luziak (Ruth’s Chris), Peng Looi (August Moon and Asiatique) and Dean Corbett (Corbett’s).
For kids and kids at heart, the event will also feature live music by The Remedy, along with hayrides, games, face painting, balloons, arts & crafts and playground fun.
The Home of the Innocents is a private, nonprofit agency that offers services for children who have been abused, abandoned or neglected, along with children who are physically or mentally ill or disabled. For more information or tickets, including group tables, call 596-1025.
