If I’ve heard it once, I’ve heard it a thousand times:
People love to complain about how much they eat on Thanksgiving Day.

You know you live in a country that REALLY has something to be thankful for when it is the cultural norm to belly-ache about your belly ache from having too much good food.

But it is true that Thanksgiving dinner is often one meal where it is a little too easy to overeat. So if you are worried about all of the excess this week, there are multiple purges of physical exercise in which you can still sign up to take part.

First, the Northeast YMCA (9400 Mill Brook Road) is catching the worm with a six mile early bird run Friday morning starting at 8am. Don’t worry - there are other options (including a fun run and a “turkey trot” for kids) if six miles sounds like a little too much after a day of gravy and pie. Day-of/late registration is $25 for adults.

Secondly, get downtown for the second annual Run Rudolph Run 5K that twists through the business district Friday afternoon starting at 3pm. Late registration is $25. The Run Rudolph Run is just one of many activities scheduled as a part of this year’s 30th anniversary edition (and final time – we think - with Mayor Abramson) of Light Up Louisville.
