This week’s reason for attending Abbey Road on the River is none other than Beatles tribute band, BritBeat!

When it comes to Beatles tribute bands, I’ve seen them all - the good, the bad, and the ugly. Luckily, Abbey Road on the River only picks the best, and one of the best is BritBeat. Hailing from Chicago, BritBeat spent the past year traveling the country performing their 50th Anniversary show, which celebrated 50 years since the Beatles first performed on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964. BritBeat even has their own Ed Sullivan impersonator, Fred Whitfield, who will also be appearing at Abbey Road on the River.

BritBeat isn’t just a group of excellent musicians; these band mates are great actors. Their concerts, especially their anthology show, are more like a play with different acts and costume changes. BritBeat will be performing their anthology show Saturday night before Abbey Road on the River’s huge ELO show.  BritBeat will also perform on Sunday with a new show called “Beatles 65,” which is a celebration of the Beatles 1965 tour. There will be other chances to see BritBeat throughout the weekend. Check Abbey Road on the River’s website for a full schedule.

If you enjoy Abbey Road on the River and BritBeat, you don’t have to end the fun after Memorial Day Weekend. Abbey Road on the River recently announced their newest endeavor, the “Flower Power Cruise.” BritBeat will perform aboard the cruise, along with many other bands including popular ‘60s names such as Micky Dolenz of the Monkees, The Guess Who, Herman’s Hermits with Peter Noone, The Grass Roots and more. You can find more information about the cruise on Abbey Road on the River’s website.

Check back with Louisville.com over the next two weeks for more reasons why you should attend Abbey Road on the River!
