We’re less than a week away from Abbey Road on the River, and here’s one more huge reason why you should attend! Abbey Road on the River’s big concert event for this year is The Orchestra, featuring former members of the Electric Light Orchestra.
Electric Light Orchestra began in Birmingham, England. Heavily influenced by The Beatles, their music is an amalgamation of pop and psychedelic themes. I honestly didn’t realize how many Electric Light Orchestra songs I knew until it was announced that they’d be performing at Abbey Road on the River. Once I began researching, it became apparent just how influential the Electric Light Orchestra has been since its creation in 1970. With hits like “Evil Woman” and “Strange Magic,” even Paul McCartney himself couldn’t help but get down to their music at the Grammys this year. (If you missed it, click here.)
If you’d like to see The Orchestra in concert, don’t delay! Purchase your tickets now at www.arotr.com, and check back with Louisville.com for daily reviews and photos of Abbey Road on the River next weekend.
