Abbey Road on the River is inching closer and closer, and this week’s reason for attending is more closely related to the Beatles than all the rest. Julia Baird, half-sister of the late John Lennon, will be a guest speaker at the festival. A former teacher and school psychologist, Baird became a writer when she wanted to right the wrongs in her family’s popularly speculated history.

Baird wrote the book Imagine This about her life growing up with John, her sister, and their very important mother. “After years of hearing the pundits and the so-called experts, most of whom never met John, expanding their own version of our lives, I felt compelled to raise my head above the parapet,” Baird says,

“My book is really the story of how the genius who was John Winston Lennon, who became John Ono Lennon, never stopped being just John, my big brother.” Baird will be signing copies of her book throughout the weekend.
