    Bit to Do

Whiskey Chicks Mixer at Manny And Merle

There’s this great organization in Louisville called The Whiskey Chicks and they put on some really great events, such as their “How to throw a Derby party” party back in May.  Next on their list of events is a mixer on June 24, at Manny and Merle.

According to their website, “Enjoying Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey is a unique privilege in life.  So is being a woman.  Blend the two and you have The Whiskey Chicks, a group wherein every woman can experience and explore the delights and distinctions of bourbon while making new connections and friendships in the process.  Whether you are a woman who loves bourbon or you're bourbon curious, we invite you to join us as we create and share a variety of unique bourbon experiences in a relaxed social environment where we can appreciate the taste and tradition of the spirit, and each others' company, in new and exciting ways.”

This is what makes bourbon culture so great.  No matter who you are or where you’re from, if you love bourbon there’s a whole community of friends waiting for you.  I’ve never walked out of a bourbon event without at least one new friend.

On Tuesday, June 24 from 6-8, join the Whiskey Chicks at Manny and Merle for a mix and mingle, open to current and prospective members.  They ask that you donate $5 at the door to cover the cost of the event and so that future events can be put on.  Manny and Merle will have food and drink specials and perhaps a few surprises.  According to the event website, “Manny & Merle is a toe-tappin, taco-slinging honky-tonk on Downtown Louisville’s Whiskey Row, featuring a superb collection of bourbon, tequila.  When you enter through our open-air vintage doors, you’ll be transported to a different time and place. The historic interior features belt -driven fans and a bar built in the 1920′s that will have you making new friends.  Manny & Merle, memories are made here.”
