Harrison County Summerfest 2014 at the County Fairgrounds
The Harrison County Summerfest is taking place June 27 and 28 at the county fairgrounds. Friday's events will include the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling Old Capitol Power Pull, which features some of the nation's top tractors and trucks. The Summerfest will also feature free entertainment, a silent auction, art and craft booths, a craft beer garden, food booths, a 5K run/walk, and a kid zone. The festival will continue its tradition of raising money for a child in need. This year, proceeds from the golf scramble, 5K, and silent auction will benefit 5-year-old Miley, who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis. Stop by on Friday or Saturday (or both!) to have some fun and help make a difference!

Safe Summer Spectacular at the Oxmoor Center
Join Kosair Children’s Hospital and Norton Healthcare for a day of fun, safety, and health at the Oxmoor Center this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children’s activities include a bike ride, pedestrian safety obstacle course, and car seat demonstration, as well as hula hoop, jump rope, and rubber duck contests. Healthy snacks will be provided by Whole Foods. California Pizza Kitchen will donate 20% of sales that day to support Kosair Children’s Hospital.
