    Louisville Brewfest 2016 | Slugger Field

    The Louisville Independent Business Alliance (LIBA) will host the 8th Annual Louisville Brewfest this Friday at Slugger Field. The event will feature independent local and regional beer, including special edition brews created in collaboration with local VIPs like Mayor Fischer and Edward Lee. Local wine and bourbon will also be available, as well as a variety of food vendors. Admission is $5, or free for designated drivers, and includes a souvenir cup. Attendees must be 21 or older to enjoy the beer, wine and bourbon. VIP tickets are $50 and include access to exclusive beers, special gifts made by local artisans, and larger pours in a commemorative festival glass.

    Brewfest After Party | Haymarket

    Yappy Hour Fundraiser | Apocalypse Brew Works

    Come drink craft beer with your four-legged best friend! This dog-friendly event will take place in the fenced parking lot of the brewery, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the KY Humane Society. Enjoy great food from local food trucks, live music and collaborative beers from ABW and the LAGERS Homebrew Club. Dogs must remain on a leash at all times.

    Happy Hour Run Series: Urban Adventure Run | Over The 9

    Have you always wanted to be on the Amazing Race? Are you ready to solve clues, complete challenges and race around Louisville with your friends? Then this unique race is perfect for you! Compete against each other in this "Amazing Race" type run. You can run as an individual or work together as a team. Total distance will be approx. 3-4 miles ON FOOT, so dress appropriately. There will be prizes, and everyone who signs up for all three races in the series receive a commemorative growler.

    Blizzard of Ozzy: Ozzy Osbourne Tribute Band | Mercury Ballroom

    Blizzard of Ozzy is the world’s biggest tribute to the legendary Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath. The inventors of metal are honored in grand fashion with an arena style show complete with all the bone-shaking explosions, guitar riffs and exact staging you’d expect from the heavy metal masters in their prime.

    ReSurfaced Fall 2016 | The Liberty Build

    Through the ReSurfaced initiative, we are exploring creative ways to pre-vitalize these vacant and underutilized spaces by creating low-cost investments that activate the space NOW rather than wait for big, long-term developments to take shape. Our fall 2016 site presents an opportunity to experiment with a location that is surrounded by walkable residential neighborhoods and the vibrant adjacent commercial corridor of Nulu along East Market. Come by and check it out this Friday. Your Local Record Show and DJ Kymbo Slyce will both be performing, and there will be food trucks on scene.

    Louisville Strassenfest | Fourth Street Live!

    The City of Louisville and Fourth Street Live! present Strassenfest.

    8th Annual NuLu Fest

    As the official kick-off party for Idea Festival 2016, NuLu is hosting a street festival celebrating the revitalization of Louisville’s East Market District. Come enjoy live music by Sonablast Records, micro-brewed beers by Louisville Beer Store and numerous food and retail booths by local vendors. There will be activities for all ages. The event is free, family-friendly and open to the public. NuLu is now best known for its art galleries, unique specialty stores, antique shops and a growing number of upscale restaurants.

    Louisville Irish Fest | Bellarmine University

    The Louisville Irish Fest is held on the final weekend in September of each year and features traditional food, unique gifts, children’s events, dancing, libations and music from the Emerald Isle. This year’s theme is Ireland Rising 1916-2016.

    Bark in the Park 2016 | Seneca Park

    Bark in the Park is a celebration of all things canine! The Animal Care Society welcomes the general public to one of Metro Louisville’s most popular green spaces – Seneca Park.     Dare to Care Hunger Walk | E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park

    The Hunger Walk presented by Aramark is a 5K Walk and Run benefiting Dare to Care Food Bank.     Frank X. Walker: Poetry, Politics and York | Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church

    Our guest speaker, Frank X Walker, is the celebrated former poet laureate of Kentucky, University of Kentucky professor and founding member of the Affrilachian Poets. A lover of history and truth telling, Frank has been a long-time poet/visual artist and social justice activist. He will talk about how his roles as artist and activist have been intertwined, and will read from his work, including his newest book on York. Frank X Walker's books will be available for sale and signing immediately following the service.

    Fall Antiques Marker | Historic Locust Grove

    This annual Antiques Market features professional dealers from the South and Midwest displaying their wares on the lawn at Locust Grove.
