Stoneware Third Thursday Lifestyle Series
The Third Thursday Lifestyle Series at Stoneware on July 17 features Valerie Schirmer from Three Toads Farm, who will demonstrate how to pot succulents in Stoneware. Schirmer’s demonstration will include tips about soil, watering, sunlight, temperature, and other key components for keeping your Stoneware succulent thriving year-round. Held in Stoneware’s new GE Monogram Experience Kitchen, the open house event will be catered by Maison Culinary, with complimentary “from the garden” themed hors d'oeuvre and cocktail tastings. The Lifestyle Series is designed to showcase authentic, local makers of products that complement the Stoneware products and lifestyle.

Mix Your Bourbon with Eron Plevan at Bourbon Barrel Foods
On July 17 at 7 p.m., Eron Plevan, head mixologist of the historic Oakroom, will be in Bourbon Barrel Foods' Kitchen Studio teaching guests how to make four of his favorite cocktail recipes. Along with the mixology lesson and tasting, guests will also enjoy signature snacks from Bourbon Barrel Foods. Plevan’s unique cocktail menu includes Copper Crowns are Still Crowns (Plevan’s version of an Old Fashioned), Bourbon St. Sour, Mexican Smoke Break, and Quill Pens & Kentucky Ink. Each cocktail incorporates at least one of Bourbon Barrel Foods’ gourmet ingredients and applies fundamental mixology techniques to impressive cocktails.

Summertime Birthday Hoedown in Germantown
The Third Thursday Hoedown in Germantown returns July 17, celebrating its second birthday at Danny Mac’s. Local caller Alex Udis will be featured with the old-time tunes of semi-local band Hen Cackle. This monthly social event is open to all ages and all levels of experience. All dances are taught, and no one is required to dance. A partner is easily found on the dance floor and pizza and cheap beer are available at the bar. There is no dress code; though one’s twirliest skirt is recommended. Doors open at 7 with a beginner’s square dance workshop at 7:30, and dancing will take place from 8-10:30, featuring predominantly simple and traditional southern figures.

7th Annual Jane Austen Festival at Locust Grove
This weekend, Historic Locust Grove is hosting the largest Jane Austen Even in North America! The 7th Annual Jane Austen Festival is July 18-20. The Michael Feger Paralysis Foundation is hosting the 4th Annual Summer Showdown Car Show & Silent Auction on July 19 at Valor Traditional Academy “The Castle” in Louisville. Vehicle Registration is $15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The first 100 vehicles will receive a Dash Plaque and Goodie Bag. Trophies will be given to the Top 40 Cars/Trucks. Midsummer Night's Owl Hike at the Louisville Nature Center
Join naturalist Rosemary Bauman at the Nature Center an educational nighttime hike while learning about the owls in Beargrass Creek State Nature Preserve.
