    Festival of Trees and Lights | Slugger Field

    Come out for the 27th annual Festival of Trees & Lights! Hosted by the Kosair Children's Hospital Foundation, hundreds of volunteers design and decorate Christmas trees, wreaths and hand-crafted holiday items - all of which are for sale to raise funds for Norton Children's Hospital. There will be free children's activities, a sweet shop and gift shop, a miniature train display
    and more holiday entertainment!
     
    When: November 11, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; November 12-13, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

    Jeptha Creed Distillery Grand Opening

    Jeptha Creed will be giving tours of their distillery on the hour. Come see how they are "Making Old Fashion New!" Each tour comes with a tasting of their products, which include bourbon (of course), moonshine and vodka. Even if you don’t have time for a tour, you can stop in for a cocktail at Jeptha's tasting bar! With a signature cocktail for each of their products, plus a few seasonal specials, you’re sure to find your new favorite drink.

    "Personal Stores of Pearl Harbor" Reception | Frazier Museum

    As part of Mayor Fischer’s Week of Valor, the Frazier History Museum is hosting a commemoration and opening reception of its newest exhibition, "A Morning that Changed the World: Personal Stories of Pearl Harbor." All veterans and active military are invited at no cost immediately following Louisville’s Veteran’s Day Parade. A performance by the Youth Performing Arts School Choir will kick off the event before words of inspiration from dignitaries and special guests.

    Jim James and Dave Eggers | Play Dance Bar

    Teach Kentucky is proud to present Jim James of My Morning Jacket and Dave Eggers, author of "The Circle" and co-founder of 826 and Voice of Witness education non-profits, in a conversation around creativity, innovation and education.

    Louisville Orchestra: In the Spotlight | Jefferson Community Center

    Teddy Abrams conducts a concert that shines the spotlight on members of the Louisville Orchestra as soloists. Stepping into the spotlight are members of the string and woodwind sections to perform a concert of concertos. These musical works offer yet another dimension to the listener and the performer. The four soloists engage with one another to tell the musical story as well as engaging with the orchestra as a group or separately.

    Styx | Louisville Palace

    NuLu Holiday Open House

    Saturday, November 12th, NuLu is hosting their annual Holiday Open House. The neighborhood will be buzzing with holiday cheer. Businesses will be offering sales and specials all day. There will be pop-up musicians, a performance from Commonwealth Theatre and the big man himself - Santa! He and Mrs. Claus will be there from noon-3 p.m., roaming the streets for photo ops.     NaNoWriMo Write-In | Southwest Regional Library

There will also be an editing workshop and special guest speaker.

    Vessel | Headliners

    The Vessel you know today came together when some of the best players in Louisville at the time, each in successful bands, ended up jamming with each other.     The Brothers Osborne: The Dirt Rich Tour | Mercury Ballroom

    From the very start, TJ Osborne was the brother with the voice. He sang in a thick, low baritone, crooning like Johnny Cash long before he was even old enough to drive. Older brother John, on the other hand, was the family’s guitar shredder, his fingers capable of down-home bluegrass licks, arena-worthy rock riffs, country twang and everything in between. Combined, the two Osbornes could play everything from traditional country music to rock & roll, creating a broad, full-bodied sound.

    An Acoustic Evening with John Hiatt | The Kentucky Center
     

    John Hiatt, who the Los Angeles Times calls “…one of rock’s most astute singer-songwriters of the last 40 years,” released his 22nd studio album, Terms Of My Surrender, in 2014. The master lyricist and satirical storyteller’s songs have been recorded by artists as diverse as Bob Dylan, Iggy Pop and Rosanne Cash (#1 country hit, “The Way We Make A Broken Heart”). This Sunday, he'll play alongside special guest Christian Lee Hutson.

    Cody Clark: A Different Way of Thinking | The Bard's Town 

    Cody Clark has a different way of thinking and seeing the world. Whether it’s finding the magic in an everyday moment, or creating an everyday moment in his magic, the magician’s art is never far from his mind. Cody discovered his love for magic at age 11, 9 years and 9 months after his parents discovered he had autism. Through stage magic and story, sleight of hand and journey of mind, Cody will show you the world through his eyes. Maybe you’ll find that his way of thinking isn’t all too different from yours.

    Flat12 6K & 12K Pack Run | Flat12 Bierworks

    This last run of the series will wrap up a great year with your choice of a 6k or 12k! The 6k will be a closed course; the 12k will be a partially closed course to include the Greenway Trail. Flat12 will add to the race with a few brewer obstacles to bring some fun to this final run. All runners will receive a koozie to keep your Flat 12 beers cold, as well as some other sponsor goodies! If you registered for the entire Six Pack Run Series, stick around for your bottle opener finisher medal!

    Eve Theater Company Presents: Kin | MeX Theater

    Kin is a humorous and revealing series of vignettes that provide insight into the details of a young couple’s emerging relationship through the eyes of their closest friends and relatives. Even though many of the characters never meet, and the couple themselves are rarely together, the play offers up a thoughtful and satisfying emotional journey that demonstrates how each individual’s experience resonates with others.

    Art Exhibit Opening | Galerie Hertz
